Relax, Rejoice & Rejuvenate, Volume I is based on my experiences with doing my absolute best, and developing the courage to face another day. It is my way of reaching out to others. It provides an affirmation for every day, an affirmation for everyday use, and a selection of spiritual photographs. Click here to preview the book on Amazon and see some of the photos.
Readers tell me that they like it because it contains affirmations for self esteem, daily affirmations. They say that they feel it helps with bolstering positive thinking, and spirituality. It’s been compared with works by Louise Hay, which is quite flattering.
Here’s a typical comment from Natalie Pink:
I really enjoyed all of your books but the one that stood out for me was Relax Rejoice…as I liked the daily comments, so I thought I’d read one a day and put it into practice. – Natalie Pink
This book works well on it’s own, and and conjunction with Getting the Answers You Need, which shares hundreds of constructive questions that you can ask yourself to access the solutions that may be locked up inside your brain. In essence, the affirmations provide a sort of inoculation against negativity that encourages me to ask questions that provide constructive solutions for improving my life and the life of my family. I can’t guarantee you that you’ll get the same results, but I can tell you that readers find the two books valuable.
Here are some of the affirmations in Relax, Rejoice & Rejuvenate, Vol I:
- I am creative.
- I am self reliant.
- I feel good about myself.
- I listen actively to people.
- I react when it is appropriate.
- I seek out the opportunity within dilemmas.
- I am a giving person.
These are just some of the affirmations that I’ve honed over 20 years. They’ve stood the test of time for me, and readers respond positively to them.
I feel that they are so effective because each affirmation is a restatement in a different way of a fear. For example:
- “I am creative” was not written because someone said I was not creative. It was written because I was having trouble finding an out-of-the-box solution for a software programming challenge that needed to be accurately converted within 90 days. It was just about impossible to convert over 1,000,000 WordPerfect documents into Microsoft Word documents, and keep all of the formatting and symbols intact, so I had to do a workaround. Bascially, I wrote two programs. One that automated Microsoft Words’ conversion capabilities and the other to go through the converted files, find the issues and allow manual fixes. This creative approach enabled me to beat the deadline.
- “I am self reliant,” was written in response to being able to support someone I loved. I felt that before I could support them in their quest for personal growth, I had to be fully self reliant. The affirmation empowered me to help that person.
- “I feel good about myself,” was written in response to one of those gray days that everyone goes through once in a while. It has served me well because I often tend to be harsher on myself than anyone else, and this affirmation makes me realize that I have value and I should feel good about that.
Are you noticing a pattern? Writing affirmations is not as simple as taking a fear and reversing it. It’s getting at the underlying cause of an issue and inoculating myself against its negativity.
The affirmations in this book also form a basis for a philosophy of life that makes itself evident in my other writing. For example, my book The Monster on Top of the Bed (Printed Edition) (Kindle edition) is based on an affirmation, “I am amply able.” Karrit, a small critter that lives under Suzy’s bed feel that is amply able to meet Suzy and become friends. Although the book does not say it anywhere, Karrit and Suzy both employ The Golden Rule. In essence they (1) listen actively to each other; (2) react when it is appropriate; (3) seek out the opportunity within dilemmas and give of themselves until they become best friends and never have to worry about bedtime monsters again.
